this book was woefully underwhelming. through high praises and the author’s interviews, i can assume the intent of this book was to prompt larger conversation on the prolonged effects of exposure to “harmful and disturbing” content online, and evoke “shock” per the author… however this book was lackluster and fell short of all expectations. if anything, the book contributes more to the shallow conversations about “social media addiction” that further demonize the internet.

I thought it’d have more depth/ be more horrory,
But it was pretty tame and just felt like a bad relationship story

Crude and sensationalist as I expected I just couldn’t care much about the main character and her love ordeal. Abrupt ending.
