Although it is brief and slightly one-dimenosional, it is a heartbreaking about narcissistic abuse and a feminist reimagining of the “Pygmalion” myth is always welcomed.

While I really wanted to love this short story given the subject matter, I just didn’t. I read for joy and this was far to hard hitting to enjoy it.

This is a must read feminist short story. Especially if you grew up with, or are currently living with an angry men in your house.

This may be the shortest book I’ve ever read. This short and sweet feminist retelling of Galatea’s story packs a powerful punch. The history of the myth and that it inspires Pygmalion and thus My Fair Lady and Pretty Woman is super interesting. I loved Miller’s feminist rebuttal to this myth that the ideal woman is molded by a man. Galatea has a strong narrative voice and reminds of a shorter, spunky Circe. I enjoyed!
