This is the story of Clotide, who escaped a tragic accident many years ago, now she has come back to show her daughter the scene of the accident but it’s not as it seems.... someone doesn’t want the truth to come out.

This was brilliantly written and it kept me intrigued right until the end. Whilst some parts were predictable it did keep me guessing and there was some twists and turns that I just didn’t see coming.

As always I’d love to find out more about the characters as it’s well written and you get to like and know the characters as part of the story.

It could’ve been a more enjoyable read if the book was lessened about 100 pages or so. I’m all for some interesting pop culture and historical references in fiction, but when it’s just too much coupled with unnecessary descriptive passages that I honestly don’t give a shit about, it’s kinda hit a point for me.

Not to mention how unfavourable the characters are in this book. I don’t like Cotilde when she was 15, and I still don’t like her 27 years later! I hate her diary, the way she wrote about her mother’s breasts! I mean, who does that? Surely not a 15-year-old girl! It’s as if the diary was written by a 40-year-old man!

Honestly, the book’s saving grace is probably the ending (albeit it was such a chore to get there), and the amazing descriptions of Corsica. Otherwise, it’s such a disappointment, considering how much I loved After the Crash and Black Water Lilies.

What a letdown! Time Is a Killer had the potential to be a great thriller, but unfortunately, it didn’t deliver at all. I absolutely couldn’t stand Clotilde! She was obnoxious, selfish and forgettable.
