It was a slow paced mystery with a story that wasn’t engaging and a supernatural element that was half assed.. it was sad and lagging. Also clearly written by a male with weird anecdotes about the wife that only a man would write. The ending was anti-climactic and dumb. Grief stricken guy follows a lead of his recently deceased wife that kept a ton of secret from him. Bleugh.

The beginning sucked me in but I found myself focusing more on the amount of times "Allison" and "come with me" are said that the rest of the story seemed repetitive and dragged on. The more we got to know Allison, the less I was interested in as well. I don't think this was "small town horror" it was more a detective read. I did not like the ending either. Overall 3⭐️

This was definitely one of the better mysteries I’ve read in awhile. I read it in about 2-3 days, which I haven’t done in a long time. It has really great imagery and darkness. I felt so immersed in the places that the main character visited, and there were many on edge moments.

Not horror at all in my opinion and the book's description is very misleading. You think you're going to read about something supernatural and maybe about a woman leading a double life as a killer, but nope!

I give it points for sucking me in initially, but as soon as I realized what was happening I was done. Still finished it but not worth the time it took. Nothing I had hoped for and pretty disappointing.

Very interesting read. Towards the middle of the book there’s foreshadowing and once you finish the book you’ll realize the foreshadowing happened from the start. I think just from the tone of the book you could figure out the ending. Lots of plot twists throughout the whole thing, I read it in one sitting but I really enjoyed it, definitely cried a little once i finished it.
