Fantastic twist.

This book was a different take on the dragon story. Putting you in the mind of the dragon. It was fantastically written and tastefully executed. Good read.

There are two sections to this book, one where the dragon was alone, and one where there were humans characters.

The sections with him alone are fantastic, and the ones with the humans are tedious, annoying, and frustrating.

Unfortunately, the sections with the humans outnumber those with the wonderful sections of him alone.

His design is godly, regardless. Very sexy dragon.

I wanted to like this book, I love dragons and the synopsis got me interested.

However, I made a rule to myself - give a book at least 100 pages. I gave this book 105 pages, until chapter 9, to pick up and it didn't.

This book gave me strong deja vu vibes back to the book Black Beauty. It went thru the learning process and explanations of humans and their tools & ways in much the same way. While not as simplistic as BB--I'm sure it was meant for an entirely different audience, it pointed out man's inhumanity to animals in a similar fashion.

Previous reviewers said they saw the ending coming. I certainly did not, and am happier for it. I felt the ending wrapped up the story quite nicely. Most of the books I read today are part of a series so the gratification of a completely satisfying ending was refreshing. Unlike so many series conclusions single volume stories don't have the problem of so much having gone on with so many characters that it's hard to completely close the door on a story.

I recommend this to anyone looking for a good dragon story or good fantasy story. It sits firmly, IMO, in YA territory, but should be enjoyable by adults since there is nothing childish about it.

A very good and engrossing read. I love the world building and the characters and I thought that it was well paced.

I thought this was a very interesting book!

It did take me a while to read because there were some chapters that felt like they took FOREVER to get through but I was very happy with this book!

so I got this for free and finished it in a day
It's been years since I spent hours with a book like this
amazing amazing amazing
beautiful style, lovely characterization, exciting plot.
it has a very Black Beauty vibe crossed with Dreamwork's Spirit. The story of a dragon and his dealings with men, both good and bad, and the lifelong battle for freedom. It was incredible, the style was perfect for being inside the mind of a dragon, and by the end I was crying both happy and sad tears.
There is nothing I'm unhappy with, nothing I want to know more about.
There's a feeling of contentedness by the end that mirrors Stormfall's.
I know this is something I'll read again and again
