6.5/10, didn't feel like a compelling enough fantasy story.

I received this from Macmillan Audio for review. Here are my honest thoughts:
This is definitely a cute series. This narrator gets Riley 100%. I love the voice she uses for her. It's sweet and cute, but she picks up Riley's know-it-all, overconfident attitude well. Those are reasons why I don't exactly like Riley, but this book sort of redeems her in my eyes. She doesn't get everything she wants all the time, and that's how it should be.
Definitely check this series out if you liked the Ever series by this same author. It doesn't really continue Ever's story at all, but Riley is a spunky girl, and Ever shows up every now and then. I'd recommend this to younger YA readers since it's very clean in all aspects.

Although I didn't really read the first two books, it was surprisingly easy to catch up with what's happening. I like the arc of the story, even though Riley can get annoying; it was different than the usual tropes and it's a short read!

I picked this one up on a whim because I was headed out of town and needed an audiobook. It was intriguing enough in subject matter for me now to search out the others in the series. I like the exploration of afterlife possibilities. And Riley is a feisty heroine!

This book was really cute. I love hearing Riley's side of the story.
The message at the end was really nice.

Brill! Really loved the third book in the Riley Bloom Series.
