Historical romances just give me all of the feels man, and Anthony Bridgerton? Yes please x1000000.

We’ve got for you: a marriage of inconvenience, hate to want you, enemies to lovers vibes, wonderful banter.

I loved the mutual pining of Anthony and Kate; both hating how much they secretly couldn’t stop thinking about one another. Their back and forth was everything, and I strive to be as quick witted as Kate. And there’s just something about a forbidden touch that is simply irresistible. This story has just enough humor and charm to it, with an amazing and heart warming storyline that with both break your heart and put it back together again. Highly recommend pairing with the audio as well - it’s currently included in the Audible Plus catalog if you have an Audible membership!

Up until about page 200 the book was going well.
I just totally lost it when Anthony tries to suck the bee venom out of her boob. Wtf?
The writing in this book was not nearly as cohesive as book 1, and I wish I hadn't spent my money on it honestly. So much POV flipping it's hard to tell who is the main character of each chapter.

I liked Bridgerton Season 1, so thought I’d try the books. I just couldn’t get into this. While Jane Austen’s Knightley and Darcy characters may have been chauvinist, they were not misogynist. They were decent men who seem to have respect for their sisters, mothers and love interests even within the confines of the dictated gender roles of that time. The Viscount and Kate in this book seemed to be caricatures. He has no respect or heart, and they don’t have any substantive conversations. Maybe the other books are better. If you’re looking for Jane Austen light, try some of Georgette Heyer’s Regency romance novels.

About halfway the plot diverges from that of the show and I do understand why the show did it, but it works really well in the book and is overall just a lot of fun.
