This book grew on me for sure. The premise was very much like The Do-Over which I didn't realize but I liked that one so I wanted to give this one a try too.
I liked that both of the main characters were in the time loop together. I thought it gave them a really nice chance to actually get to know each other and remember each other afterward rather than the feelings growing for only one of them throughout the days while the other one is left to fall in love within one day.  And boy was this a slow burn of a development too. I think I was about halfway through before Barrett even started suspecting she liked Miles. But it was a good slow burn. It felt more true to real life that way and I really appreciated it.
I also liked that this book attempted to explain why the loop happened in the first place and had a more physical way of getting out of the loop because of it. It was nice to give the characters a definite way to get out of the loop so they could plan for it rather than it just happening. They never really did anything too crazy for the fall-out to be bad anyway.
I also really liked Barrett and Miles as a couple. He was so sweet and appreciative of her weirdness and she loved his awkwardness and encouraged him to talk about his feelings when he needed to. It felt like a very balanced relationship which was great to see. The only thing I don't think worked as well as was hoped, was their arguments at the beginning. They didn't spark the fire and passion that the author was probably going for to me. They seemed more annoyed with each other than anything, so I'm glad it changed to a more cute type of relationship after that.

I really liked the romance here between Barrett and Miles. Miles was sweet and dorky and respectful and I’m learning that I can only do allocishet romances when the guy is like that. I thought him and Barrett had lovely chemistry and their banter wasn’t obnoxious or annoying but felt kind of natural and loving.

I loved that character development was a huge part of the novel for both Barrett and Miles. Barrett is realising her self-worth and processing some trauma related to bullying, while Miles is learning to engage in life without fear. I think it’s super important to me personally to see romances where the people involved have their own things going on outside of the relationship. It makes the overall story much fuller, and the characters involved so much more dynamic.

The time loop underpinning the whole plot was essential to my enjoyment of this book. It is honestly one of my favourite sci-fi tropes. I just love seeing how the same day can produce totally different results, and the characters involved get to take risks and be playfully chaotic. I thought Solomon did a pretty good job with the trope here; it definitely gave the story the direction it needed. I do think certain parts could have been cut out or pruned, because the middle did start to sag with repetitiveness.
Finally, I loved the college setting! Solomon captured the campus vibe really well, especially how that first day of college feels. Reading this has really urged me to seek out more new adult stuff.

So this book was sitting around a 4.25/4.5 stars, but then the ending happened. Without spoiling anything, I believe a large part of it wasn’t necessary, but if Solomon really wanted to include it, it could have been done in a much better way. So I dropped my rating to a four. I did consider dropping it lower but this book is genuinely good and my reasons for disliking the ending in particular are probably down to personal taste.

Oh. My. Gosh. I'm in love with this book. In the words of Nicki Minaj, "No, I don't think you understand...I'm obsessed." I was skeptical at first, I won't lie. A time loop romance is hard to do right. But when it is done right, it's so much fun. I laughed through the whole book, I had moments where I related too much to Barrett, and other moments where I had to shut the book because it was so cute. I had very physical reactions to this book. I loved every minute of it. I have now declared Rachel Lynn Solomon an auto-read author. What she touches turns to gold.

It took half of the book to get a physical descriptor of Miles other than "Asian, Tall, Skinny", and it was "tan skin".

Mike's mom is only described as being Asian and having short hair. His roommate is only described as being South Asian.

We literally have no physical characteristics given to these characters besides the bare minimum and their race.

I feel like it's an attempt at diversity that falls really dramatically short for me. I liked Miles as a character, but it was WEIRD to have him described so vaguely, considering he's the love interest, and Barrett describes her own physical appearance to intense, self-depricating, and almost self-destructive levels.

I feel like, personally, that pulled me away from the story more than anything else.
