Short story was hard to follow. Frankie, the main character, is currently a caretaker and made a mistake 5 years ago to help her mom. She’s now led on a journey to try to get stolen money but things do not go to plan.

This was a pretty decent short story, it was believable and one of those stories where you almost know what will happen but not quite sure so you’re eager to find out more. I wish the main character’s personality could have been embellished on a little more-but maybe that’s the point, she was a just a average person who had something crazy happen to her -could happen to anyone I guess. I give it 3 stars which for me means good/average.

Secrets and lies war with greed and quick riches in this suspenseful treasure hunt story. Not as creepy as the stories before it but twisty none the less. Another cautionary tale out of the collection of 5 stories, this one showing that you can't trust a thief, and that nothing good can come from joining the bad guy in retrieving loot hidden in a mine shaft in Death Valley, where the most common lifeform is scorpions.
