honestly didn’t love it. I stuck it out because it was short, but I felt like it was too predictable and felt a bit boringly written, but I’m too tired to explain more eloquently than that lol

Really good and this COVER !!! <3
It's sweet, fast paced, you don't have one boring moment, everything is well delivered and in time, nothing is too rushed and the slow burn realistic romance <3 aaahhhhrrrggg perfect really.
I was rooting for them, they both have they insecurities and everyone can relate (to the human aspect of things haha obviously)

Just great ! Can't wait to see the cover for book 2 because this one was just .. jaw dropping !

I honestly tried to finish this book, but I just couldn't grow attached to any of the characters. I kept on reading far more than I would've wanted, just to get to the exciting part, to some kind of turning point or to the end; I honestly don't know.
Perhaps I'll resume it one day, to try and understand what all the hype is about, but I don't really feel like it right now.

This is my first Elise Kova and even though it’s not exactly what I was expecting, I found that I had fun reading this. Her writing style let me easily picture everything that was going on and really brought the world to life. I will say I was hoping for more tension between the couple but I think there were still a lot of great moments. I think falls similarly into the category of Sarah j Mass and other authors like her where you have a new adult story that seems a little too old for YA but not fully there for adult. Though I loved many of the side characters like Hook and Willow, I couldn’t get behind the romance as much as I wanted. I will say I loved the incorporation of the journals and how much detail she included in her world building. That’s where I think she really shined and what will definitely make me open to reading more from her in the future.

3.5 stars. Let's start off with the fact that I enjoyed the very end of the book and the love scenes. I wasn't really into the beginning of this book. The plot would have been great if it had been better fleshed out, but the romance is cute, and the characters are alright. There wasnt enough build up to the romance, overall it's just an alright, quick read.

This was really good and don’t get me wrong the quality of the audio is excellent, but I’m picky and I honestly think I would have preferred a word for word reading vs. taking stage direction for the reading. That’s super picky though and I quite enjoyed this book. She’s not reinventing the wheel, but it’s a good Hades and Persephone retelling with elvish backdrop.
