I love this book! Years ago, when my children were smaller, I was looking for a book to help explain evolution in a way that was scientific and fact
-based but not too technical or mature for younger audiences, and I found this book on Amazon. It had really good reviews but was out of print; fortunately, I was able to buy a used one that had been discarded from a public library. I am so glad I did! While some of the illustrations might bother more sensitive and/or younger readers, they and the text are factual and the perfect way to introduce children to evolution. They get the basic concepts, and I really believe that they get something new out of it every time they are exposed to it. I hope that someday they reprint this book so that future generations can benefit from it, especially since children's books about evolution are not commonplace. In fact, I wish this were a series that focused on a different animal in each book. I can't recommend this book highly enough.
