I really wanted to like this book. I really did. The other three that I’ve read in the Salacious Players, I’ve loved. But this one? Nope. Maybe it was how forceful and aggressive Ronan is when he finds out Daisy’s sleeping in her van and how he has NO boundaries with her, like when he gets pissed about her serving VIP or lets the French owner of a sex club flirt with her and doesn’t step on. Maybe it was just me but I hated the way the French kinky people were depicted as sexual deviants who don’t care about boundaries or respect relationships and how so much better Salacious is. And why were random people just staring at her and Ronan? As if they’d never seen an age gap couple before?? Or maybe Daisy constantly talking about her dead mom and how she wonders over the relationship of her mom and Ronan and how he’ll hate her if she tells him but that she knows she needs to. Cue them running circles around each other over the age gap, her admitting she needs to tell him and then turning around to have kinky sex, etc, etc.
All in all, the other books were far more enjoyable.

Unexpectedly emotional? Not sure I want to be crying about my own grief issues and the. Hot and bothered 10 seconds later by the steamy SPICY smut. Haha.

For the "yes Daddy"/"baby girl" crowd.

I didn't want to put this one down. I love Ronan and Daisy's story. It's definitely an emotional one that had me crying at times. But it was absolutely amazing. I'm so happy that Daisy and Ronan found happiness and love again with each other despite the circumstances that led them to each other. And I love that when it came down to it Ronan made sure Daisy got the help and healing she needed before they could really be together.

Overall I would absolutely recommend and I can't wait to get into the last book. I feel Eden's book is gonna be very interesting.

I throughly enjoyed this book, only took me two days to finish. However, I could rate it higher because some of the plot lines were too unrealistic for me to connect with.

There are great moments in the book that made me want to rate it 4.75. It’s not without it’s flaws but it’s still a great story.

Less half a star for this spoiler:
surprise pregnancy/pregnancy in epilogue
. Otherwise it was a very good read. Fast-ish pace like I like and quite a bit of smut. It is a kink book, so mind your TWs. One of the more tame books in the series so far, least amount of drama.

Ronan carried this book! He’s my favorite character, but this book is my least favorite in the series. Ronan has been a constant in the SPC series so I was so excited for his book, but I felt the FMC was not the best fit. Daisy is a waitress at SPC and finds herself participating in the auction where Ronan inevitably wins the bid. Unbeknownst to Ronan, he and Daisy have been connected for years, but that doesn’t stop Daisy from falling hard. I honestly felt Daisy was too immature and was almost infantilized throughout the story. In addition, the withholding of information by Daisy throughout the book does affect their sexual relationship and bleeds into dub-con. We also didn’t get as much of his pleasure dom side as I hoped we would. I had a fun time while reading, but given how exceptional the rest of the series has been this one didn’t quite get that 5 star.

"The number of years a person has lived seems like such a trivial detail when you find someone who lights a spark in your soul and makes life worth living again."

Daisy doesn't know where life is taking her after her mother dies - until she ends up in Briar Point, working at a sex club, trying to figure out if the man who visits it every night is the same one who's name is on a trust fund for her. She doesn't know why Ronan Kade gave her a million dollars, she only discovered it after her mother's death and no one else is on the account. But when she finds herself getting dangerously close to the billionaire and developing feelings, she realizes life might have led her to the man who always wanted to keep her safe.

Well, I finished this book and cried - openly wept - for like twenty minutes. That's where we're at. Does this book set itself up to be the kind of book to emotionally core you out like a watermelon? No, but it does and it does a damn good job at doing it. Once again Sara Cate decides to come out swinging with a story that is chock-full of intense topics that are navigated with such care and caution I want to thank her personally. The grief in this book is handled so well, even Daisy bringing up her mother had me bursting into tears multiple times. I found myself wanting her and Ronan to be happy against all odds and to remain that way forever.

That being said - this had me on the edge of my seat for OTHER reasons. Those reasons being I was a feral cat the entire time I read this. When I wasn't being brought to tears, I was gasping for air and looking for my phone for 911 because Ronan was sending me into sheer cardiac arrest. At one point I texted friends, "Bye I'm not sure I can handle this book. I'll be making poor decisions and googling sugar daddies near me" which... mood. I will just say, Ronan Kade puts Emerson Grant to shame and Sara Cate should feel proud she can make me gasp through tears and sheer pearl clutching. I'm not ready for Eden's book, I'll sob my way through that one too, but at this point, I'm giving Cate consent to hurt me because the pain feels so freaking good.
