Wow! This was a really awesome story, I loved every bit of it.

It's very interesting and I finished it in a couple of hours. I would really love to see the illustrations animated; this would make a great tv show/anime!

I will definitely be reading more. It has magic, steampunk-ish-ness, and a bit of gore/blood/horror so if you're not into that last part, or I guess any of those things, then I'd steer clear of this graphic novel.

Pros:
The art style is gorgeous. I'd love to have an art book with just the drawings and character designs etc.
The child characters were cute and believable.
The cats and cat humor were great.

Cons:
Lots of info dumps.
Too many characters who look alike or similar and not enough distinction as to which was which angry black haired beautiful chick.
Because so much of the mc's past is a mystery, there's not enough momentum to keep me going.

3.5
If this was a full bind up of the whole series, I probably would keep reading. The art is compelling enough for me to want more. But I won't go out of my way to buy the next book for the story because I didn't fall for any of the characters enough to care.

It's not a bad read by any means, but I have too many things on my TBR competing with this to throw another ten dollars and hour + of my time on something I'm not in love with.
:/ I will pick up other volumes if I see them on discount but I'm not going out of my way to follow through with this series, which kinda sucks because I really wanted another boss graphic novel series to sink my teeth into.

Gorgeous art. Expert world building. Gripped me from the first issue and kept me intrigued. One of my favorite comics right now.

I loved the artwork in this story!! It was SO detailed. This is probably the most complex and darkest comic I’ve read so far, but I really enjoyed it. I was a bit confused for the first half, but I’m glad I took a chance on something I’d only heard about in passing on booktube. Definitely going to continue on.
