Oh...oh my god?

I love how unsettling this is even before anything really happens. I forgot just how raw and often terrifying Shuzo Oshimi's facial expressions were. He makes you feel the main character's discomfort and horror.

I'm really into this so far and excited to be reading another Oshimi manga so long after The Flowers of Evil

I didn't love or hate it.  I wanted something with a little more action.  However, the suspense was definitely there, I was nervous to see what was on the next page and to see what the mother was capable of. There was a lot of build up to the climax but then it stops because it's the end of the volume.  I am conflicted on continuing this series or not.  I'd like to see where this story goes, but it took a while to get there so I'm not sure.
