a nice little bridge between the absolute insanity that was acowar and the next book acosf. i'm so excited to continue into the next book, and this was a sweet break that tied together loose ends before shifting narratives. i also really liked the developments in certain characters and how those developments were so expertly written. sjm you have my respects always

This wasn't bad. It was okay. I would label this "a slice of life" setting, getting to see normalcy.

I honestly loved this. Very different feel from the previous books in the series, but it was so lovely to see the everyday life of Feyre, Rhys, Cassian, and Nesta. I loved Feyre's struggles with trying to do enough for her people, especially leading up to the Winter Solstice. I read this around Christmastime and reading about the Inner Circle picking out gifts for each other was JUST the sort of vibe I was looking for.

I want to drunk decorate with Feyre and Cassian.

Rating: 5 stars

A holiday novella, A Court of Frost and Starlight follows Feyre’s first Winter Solstice as
SpoilerHigh Lady of the Night Court
.

This one is a bit controversial, but here’s my hot take. Anyone who says this isn’t a required read is WRONG and I will die on this hill. For me, it reads like an extended epilogue to ACOWAR, in the absolute best way, including a ton of set-up for events to come in A Court of Silver Flames. Plus, who doesn’t love a fluffy holiday romance?

CW: Grief, eating disorder, mental illness, alcoholism
