Love by the Book by Dara England

From the synopsis and reviews of this book, I was really looking forward to reading it. However, in the end, it fell flat for me, to the point where I quit reading it halfway through and ended up reading six other books before deciding that I did not want to even attempt to finish this one. I did like the idea of the "pull the hero out of a romance novel to be a hero for the heroine in this book" but the character of Duke was very two-dimensional for me, not really growing away from being a book character at all. The heroine also was implausible for me, seemingly unconcerned about being unemployed and spending copious amounts of money while in that state. Most women, even fictional ones would be a bit more concerned about being unemployed than she was. I think if I continue to read this author, I will definitely sample before I buy!

I got this book for free so it was a good read. I am not sure if I will read more by Dara England but I am intrigued by her writing style. I like it very much.
