This book left me conflicted. It was a slow start, but once we got into it I loved the issues this book brought to light. A thriller focusing on murders of young girls from communities that get overlooked is a great topic to bring to the minds of people. I just think the writing could have been better. The protagonist didn't have to work really hard for a lot of the big reveals, they just came to her or people just told her the information that led to some of the big turning points. After the first 75 pages I got into the story, Lee was a highlight for sure. I could have gotten even more into it if the writing was just kicked up a notch.

I enjoyed Alger’s previous book, The Banker’s Wife, so I was anxious to read her newest.

This was a quick read that was fast paced and enjoyable. Just like with her previous book, Alger caught me by surprise towards the end of the book. She has a way of writing that has a reader believing that they know what is going on and bam. No you don’t.

I received an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

No character development, the plot would have been ok if the characters were more fully developed. There also needs to be at least one trigger warning of death and sexual trauma.

This was a quick and easy read. Some of the story was really predictable and at other times I was surprised. Sucked me in from the very beginning and moved quickly.

This is a book that I would really like to give a 4.5 star rating too. It was fast paced and held my interest very well. There were many twists and turns that I did not expect. I enjoy the way Alger writes and will definitely read more by her. Some of it was a bit predictable, but not in a bad way. I would’ve liked a bit more character development for Lee as well.

Solid 4 star Mystery Thriller read. Long Island Serial Killer vibes and loved the twisty moments.
