I liked the concept, but it fell a little flat while reading it. It took a while for the reveal of the "barking ghost" (even though the title pretty much gives away what it is...), but then the reveal is awkwardly around two-thirds through, which means there's then an extra third of the book where the plot moves on elsewhere... and it might have been nice to make that a larger focus of the book. But it was still a fun enough easy read, it just didn't blow me away the way a kids ghost book should.

I kinda liked the plot of this book but some of the characters were just too annoying for me.  The bullying was basic and I really didn’t care.  The ending was rushed but at the same time kinda funny.

2 stars. Boring. The twist ending couldn’t even save this one unfortunately but that’s mainly because it was super goofy. I wasn’t a fan of this one at all and you can tell Stine really phoned it in with this one.

Non particolarmente entusiasmante.
Un potenziale, quello dei cani “fantasma” non certo elevatissimo ma comunque buono, che non viene sfruttato da una storia a tratti noiosa, con personaggi piatti e un finale un po’… strano.

Goosebumps. This is the series that kept me reading through my childhood. More than any other series, Goosebumps kept me interested in reading, and R.L. Stein is a wonderful children's writer. I applaud his efforts, and can't express enough my gratitude for the series.
