I had to give Geek Girl a good rating because this book series got me into reading in the first place. It was so fun going on this new modeling adventure with Harriet. Harriet is such a lovable character and I learned so many random fun facts from her. I never really knew anything about modeling until I read this book and I learned a couple things about the industry. In Geek Girl the main character, Harriet Manners, is seen as clumsy and a nerd but this book went to show that you can be smart and a model, or anything really. There's a romance sub-plot but it doesn't take away from the story. I would recommend this book to a teen that maybe got made fun off for being smart or having a special interest because this book will teach you that geeks can be cool!

It’s a cute read! I watched the Netflix show and really enjoyed it so I wanted to give the book a read. I prefer the show because the dad in this is unintentionally harmful. And by not wanting to label the main character, the dad has instead left her with undiagnosed autism, no coping skills, and feeling like a different species of human. Labels don’t have to be defining - they can be validating if you let them.

I just love reading books starring smart dorky girls. And I especially love Harriet because she spouts out these facts that are so interesting (even though one can live without knowing them) and she is so young and innocent. I always say that the best kind of smart are the innocent ones. Also, I love her parents!!
