I didn’t enjoy this book at all. It’s taken me this long to even rate it. It was so predictable and there was absolutely little to no plot. The characters were flat. And it was just boring in my opinion. Don’t waste your time.

Okay! I really don't know how to start this (again, I won't be giving you a summary of the story)

problem(s):

1 Tons of grammatical errors, seriously if this was self-publish like the rest of wattpad stories, I won't be complaining! come on there's got to be someone who checks the spelling and everything right? (editor)

2: Tons of definitely random characters, with the sole purpose of either, Lusting after the Heroine (Elle) or making her(Elle's) life miserable, seriously!

3 I don't like (hero) Noah he seem a little bit superficial, and what the heck, accepted to Harvard seemingly without any effort whatsoever!

and that from the kiss, to sex with best friend's brother, escalated quick! Super fast!

any way, if you want to read it, then do so! but I won't be recommending this one

This was your typical high school romance novel. The girl gets into a relationship with an older, popular guy who happens to be the older brother of her best friend. They sneak around, and her best friend finds out. The girl feels her life is over. The writing was juvenal at best, which makes sense as the author wrote this while in high school herself. The plus side to that is that you really get to feel the raw emotions of the situation. I loved the strong platonic relationship between Lee and Elle and wish that more novels had this. Her relationship with Noah is a bit triggering for me, as it seems a bit abusive. Noah spent the better part of his time convincing other guys not to ask her out “to protect her.” He is possessive and gets quite angry at her many times for no reason. This is a good read for high school or older, but if you are older, just keep in mind that it’s very much fluff. Cute fluff, but fluff.

Originally didn't finish but I finally finished today. I am glad I did because I liked how Noah changed a little in the book.

(February 2023) Totally loved this book.

I did. watched the movie afterwards since if there are movies or series available of books I will watch them and compare them.

For me, there was a little bit too much drama in the first movie and it really was like a on and off relationship between Elle and Noah, also the fights and sad moments between Elle and lee.

But anyways, I liked the book and the movie but I prefer the book, since it takes longer to be finished and has a bit more information then the movie.

(April 2024) I'm currently re-reading this book because it's such a good book and I love the writing style of the author so much. I also watched the movie again which was the reason why I wanted to read the book afterwards. This time my time is a little limited so I'm trying to finish this one in less than a week - or within a week, but this shouldn't be a problem since I love this book and loving a book makes reading it faster

Elle and Lee have been best friends since childhood; they even have the same birthday. When they are in their junior year, they decide to set up a kissing booth  at their school’s fundraiser carnival. When Elle volunteers at the booth, the person to kiss her is her biggest crush, Lee’s older brother Noah. She and Noah start dating but keep their relationship a secret from everyone, especially Lee, because Elle is worried about hurting Lee’s feelings.

I should have DNFed this book, but I really enjoyed the movie. The movie is not a masterpiece of art, but it’s one of those feel-good fluffy romances that just make you feel good inside. If you’ve watched the movie, then imagine what would happen if all the characters were made more one-dimensional and there was no humor like you got on film - that’s what we got with the book. It was a fluffy romance in which the characters had no real substance, the dialogue was bland, and so many of the scenes were redundant and repetitive. If I had a dollar for every time someone told Elle that dating Noah was a bad idea, I could take myself out to a really nice dinner.

Noah’s book version was extra toxic. He was incredibly over-protective of Elle, telling her what not to wear, telling her who she shouldn’t speak to, etc. He got in fights often, and at one point Elle said she liked that about him, because she liked that he was rough around the edges. At no point did Noah have a character arc that showed he was going to grow up to be less toxic or overprotective.

If you like the movie, great, but don’t pick up the book - it’s not going to be worth it.
