My mother still tells me they even have days like that in Australia, when I've had a bad day. :)

Old Children's Book. Liked it as a kid, but haven't read it in years.

I have always loved this book because we all have that day where nothing and I do mean NOTHING goes as it is planned. However in the end, the next day is always a little better (sometimes).

I think this one still holds up, and would be best suited for being read aloud by an expressive reader. The artwork does feel a bit dated... but I don't know kids well enough to know if that would bother them.

A classic! Giving language for bad moods and feeling powerless, and also allowing more mature readers to see how our mood contributes to the choice of a horrible, no good, very bad day. The conclusion's refusal to resolve with a happier ending allows readers to draw their own conclusions -- just as it should be.

I first met this book in elementary school at my best friend's house. She lived with her cousins and Aunt and Uncle. Her Aunt (Judy) used to read this book to us every year the day before school started. In High School, I performed it for Debate class (our class was debate, but also performance of poems, monologues, etc.)

This is a great book!
