Fun read with a ton of imagination. Certainly not the most fast-paced book, but entertaining to the end.

It’s well written but took me ages to get through until the final quarter of it. I think I would’ve liked it more if I had read it as a kid. Though I’ve never been a big fan of author stories.
The Shadow King’s backstory was fuuuuuuucked up though and that’s where I started getting more hooked on the story.
