Nineteen-year-old Sophie Macreavey is found suffering from stab wounds, in her adoptive parents' car surrounded by the dead bodies of her adoptive parents & sister, whilst her brothers are both missing. Sophie can't remember what happened in the car, but she tells a tale of an abusive home life. Sophie's story starts to fall apart though when the police find a social media page & online videos of her when she had told them that they were not allowed mobile phones. Is Sophie telling the truth?

The book is written entirely from Sophie's point of view, & she clues the reader in that she is not telling the entire story, but there's uncertainty about how much is true/untrue. The great writing & the plot drew me in straight away, & the short chapters meant that it was easy to keep reading when you just have to know what happens next. I think the reader has to suspend their disbelief for the second half of the book, & I found the ending a tad too predictable, but I found it an engrossing read.

My thanks to publishers, Bloodhound Books, for the opportunity to read an ARC. I am voluntarily giving an honest review.
