Regardless of what genre Chisto Healy writes, one thing is a guaranteed: a whirlwind of adventure.

This fantasy novel, the first step in a wonderful new series, is no different. Vibrant characters and vivid descriptions help us take the plunge into a world of badass women, pirates, and sea creatures.

Will the power of a mother’s love prevail over all?

Recommended for fans of fantasy books with strong female leads and suspenseful adventure.

The Guardian from debut fantasy novelist Chisto Healy features a heady mixture of styles: sea creatures, pirates, deep world building, intrigue and kick-ass women.

Marista is a character Healy explores I'm great depth and by the end of the story you fully understand her nature and motivation. The story slowly builds to a rip-roaring finish that wraps up the story told in The Guardian while setting up further adventures to come.

Recommended for those who enjoy slow-fuse narratives, descriptive world building and deep characterisations.
