I watched the HBO mini-series before reading this book and I really enjoyed the series. That was a few years ago now, but I think I liked the series a little bit better than the book, IMO. 

Personally, I think the book worked the best before the supernatural elements played in, which is odd because I really liked that part of the show. But I do want to re-watch the show just to see how it holds up to the book.

Last two Stephen Kings books I read were duds for me, but this one was good! A good mix of weird and creepy paired against a strong heroine.

Like all Stephen King books the second half was pure nonsense, but I really did enjoy how the mystery was set up at the beginning, even if it was a little obvious.
