Vixen 03 is a high quality action adventure novel that retained its potency 45 years after publication. Cussler built a strong plot with plenty of twists and turns building to an adrenaline filled last 100 pages. This is only my fifth Cussler book but it definitely made me want to read more of his books. A solid 4 stars.

Pretty typical Cussler. Early in his career, a little edgier.

2.5 stars. Much better than Mediterranean Caper - Cussler's typical writing style comes out here. He hasn't quite hit his own, with some incongruous and dropped plot lines and cliche writing. A little too violent and sad as well. Still a pretty good Cussler read.

I listened to this on Audio tape. Usually a big fan of Dirk Pitt. But he isn't even in this book for what seems like more then half of it. At one point I wasn't even sure it was the same book. The ending was good.
