This is like the best worst book series I’ve read.

This one was actually really good. I loved the pacing, the games, and Andrew and Neil. It was dramatic like before of course, the series is nothing if not utterly ridiculous. But unlike the previous two we had no sexual assault scenes and no weird medication stuff. The insane mafia plots were resolved in a way that was not as easy as I expected.

This one is the one I will rate a four. That feels weird, but it's honest.

When I started this series I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it, and now I'm actively crying happy tears over the ending. Nora is a wizard I think

Satisfaction.

One word to sum up this whole book.
Andreil being endgame? Satisfaction. Nathan's death? Satisfaction. Foxes on vacay? Satisfaction. Jean out of the Nest? Satisfaction. Neil's deal with Ichirou? Satisfaction. Kevin stepping on court left-handed and with a new tattoo? Satisfaction. Andrew taking Exy seriously? Satisfaction. Foxes winning the NCAA championship? Satisfaction. Riko's arm broken? Satisfaction. Riko's death? Satisfaction. Satisfaction. Satisfaction.</spoilers>

I could go on and on about how exponentially the writing has improved, the beauty of circular endings, intricate and well-developed characters and such, but we're gonna be here for a super long time, then.

I was genuinely sad when I reached the end of this book. I know that there is a fourth book in this series, but this is the last book in Neil's POV, and I am genuinely going to miss him!

This book was the best in the series so far. Everything comes to a head in this book, all the things we have been waiting for come to fruition - for good and for bad. To be vague, Neil's past catches up to him and his present still causes problems, and throughout the book you're left wondering who is doing what and who should Neil be looking over his shoulder for. This is mixed with Neil's desire to just live his life and enjoy what he has left, with the tragic knowledge that he isn't going to be alive in a few months.

The foxes come together more than they ever have before, and I loved seeing how the team dynamics and relationships continued to develop.

Neil and Andrew finally get together - which is fantastic and well done with consideration of their trauma and also their deep love for each other (whether they - Andrew - will admit to it or not). Neil's father finally shows up and it is as horrible as you can imagine, but the resolution is very satisfying. Kevin finally stands up for himself against Riko, shedding his fears and standing on his own. And Riko finally gets what is coming for him.

I am so glad that they have a happy ending, because after everything they deserve it. And even after all the very heavy topics in this book, we get something hopeful to leave these characters with.

Great book, great series. Short, easy read but also very addicting and engrossing.

Again - heed the warnings.

A great end to a great series. I loved every moment of this book and the build-up to the finale was extremely fulfilling. The slow burn of Neil and Andrew's relationship finally came to a climax here and I couldn't be more happy with how Sakavic wrote them once they became a little more than established. The darker aspects of The King's Men are pretty much on par with The Raven King but it was balanced out by many sweet and triumphant moments too. Would I recommend this series to my friends? Probably not. But I'm ok with not sharing my traumatized little group of lacrosse gays.
