As incredible as the others in the series

I loved this so much. The female MC is broken and instead of needing someone to fix her she puts herself back together. I love the support from the male MC though too, I LOVE THEM.

Another 5 stars review because this series is better and better with each book.
We meet Bane in Scandalous and was really curious about him and this book hasn't disappointed.
As usual, the twists and turns that each book in this series have been crazy but so needed to create such complicated characters that go through so much emotional turmoil, so many situations that for some people are just stories but also for others are real life and painful experiences.
Some love stories are not always starting with that one look and fall in love forever but the heart will be crazy for not falling in love for that person that makes you forget about everything around you, everything but him. When one goes through a very rough period after a crazy situation, everyone wants their family support but unfortunately, not everyone gets it.
What starts as a simple friendship grows fast in a real love story between two tormented young characters and the love that they share will win over the angst caused by the side characters.

Talk about saving the best for last (In this series)
Bane and Jesse make no sense and all of the sense in the world.
(I know it sounds stupid but it's the only way to describe them in my head!)
If you enjoyed the other books in this series then you will obviously love this one.
If you haven't read the other books (for shame) and you like complicated alpha males, twists and turns, redemption and revenge and heat that will melt your panties (if you are wearing any) then this is a must read for you!!!

Bane is the final book in the Sinners of Saint series.

WARNING - This books starts with the H, Jesse Carter, being raped. The scene isn’t very descriptive or graphic, but you know by her thoughts what has happened.

Bane is a pothead, who extorts money for protection from the small business owners of the beach community he lives in and also sells himself to many of the women in the area Including the local sheriff’s wife.

Bane is looking for 6 million dollars so he can bid on a plot of land that is up for sale, so he can build SurfCity, a mall filled with stores relating to surfing.

He meets Darren, Jesse’s stepdad who offers him the money in exchange for him spending six months with Jesse, bringing her back into society, making friends etc. He is not allowed to let her know he is involved in them meeting. There is only one rule. He is not allowed to sleep with her.

As we know, Jesse has a reason for keeping herself out of the public eye. Everyone abandoned her after the “incident” so she has no friends or anyone to speak to, except her therapist.

Bane arranges the “accidental” meet outside her therapists office.

The more time they spend together, the deeper their feelings become, until eventually that one rule gets broken.

So much more to this book than romance. The twists and turns were a nice surprise. Intensely emotional.

This might be my least favorite of this series. I liked Bane but the writing was significantly poorer. The reveal was not as good.

I have grown to be such a fan of LJ Shen with this series. But at the same time this book was really hard to get through. I have a hard time believing she would just be “ok” by the end. Bane wasn’t unlikeable but he didn’t really make a splash either. The part of the book that made me laugh was when the boys referred to him as “a made in china version of vicious” lol.
Every other book in this series made me want to read all night long but this one had such hard issues that I found myself not wanting to finish. I’m glad they got the Happily every after but the tone and subject matter made this book hard to be labeled romance.
I’m gonna take a break from this author and move on to other books.
