One thing I can definitely say about Trinikid, his sense of humour is a 10 out of 10.

Reading this made me feel like I was living rent free inside his head. I felt like I was on vacation with you Trinikid ! Well done.

Anyone except his parents or his family can read this book so please go get yourself a copy right now.

“The pandemic shook this generation and will leave a fissure for generations to come. If you’re reading this, you survived 2020. You are a fighter, a survivor, and, most importantly, alive. We’ve all had different experiences, some worse than others, but we lived to tell the tale of what was 2020.”

And so he tells. Ancil Gonzales, also known as Trinikid, , in his memoir Sex , travel and the Pandemic talks about his experiences with travel during pandemic and how he was was stuck where he was .

The book starts off with Ancil in Turkey being informed by a nurse and a handing office that he has tested Covid positive and is expected to be quarantined for the next two weeks . We then get to go back in time to see how when and why he landed where he did . How on an attempt to fix his relationship issues he sets on an Europe trip with his girlfriend only to discover his love for travel.

After the break-up which he anyways saw coming, he packs up his bags and travels with one way ticket far and wide and single ! As a nomad traveller he meets a bunch of people all along his journey and each play a part small or big in his life . Ancil is enjoying everything when Covid suddenly breaks out causing the entire world to go on a lockdown.

This book took me down a memory lane of my own lockdown experiences and my post-partum depression in 2020 . I really enjoyed reading this book and Ancil’s experiences. If you love reading memoirs or love travelling itself you should not miss this light hearted easy to read book !
