This was definitely a middle book in a series. My problem with trilogies is that the first book is usually solid, as is the third, but the second is always kind of mid (pun intended). This book didn't add a ton to the last one so much as dragged things out, and had no real ending or conclusion, since it's meant to set up the third book in the series. If anything, this book just made me frustrated with the characters. Anyway, I hope that the third book is better and ties things up, because this one didn't do much for the series!

I love this series by Elin Hilderbrand! It was romance, mystery, and family issues. The second book picked up right where the first left off, and never slowed down. There were parts I didn't see coming which was great. I love how much of the culture of St. John's Hilderbrand incorporated into the story. It added an extra element to an already great story.
