I don't feel like I can rate this, because it took me about two minutes to read and I feel like I understand it at the surface level, but don't understand if it's supposed to have deeper meaning and what that meaning is, if it does.

I don't particularly like the art style, which doesn't help.

This was a World Book Day freebie, in the small pile left I've been meaning to get to after all this time (I stopped getting the freebies a few years back because I tend not to enjoy them, so why keep adding them to the TBR? But I want to at least attempt to read the ones I already have.)

I don't think it's bad, necessarily, but I also don't think it's good, and it doesn't feel right to assign a star rating to a picture book I don't think I grasp the concept of. It was a reading experiment that's taking me longer to review than it did to read in the first place, and has left me vaguely unsettled with the idea that underneath, it might be great, if only I understood it. But is the failure of understanding on my side for not getting it, or on the book's side for failing to present it clearly enough to be understood? Who knows?

This was an adorable children's book that perfectly captures that feeling of just wanting to leave - to wander off into the sunset and not worry about coming back.

I almost feel like it's cheating to include it in my count, though, since it's so small. But my friends all say it counts, so I'm counting it.

The story is quite confusing so I'm all out guessing here: is this about a girl trying to deal with the loss of her father? is this about how a girl finding comfort in the memories of her father, along with her mother?

The illustrations are beautiful, but I don't think I understand how this is a children book.
