Fairly entertaining but I found this quite boring compared to other books I’ve read recently, it took me about six months to finish compared to a few days to a week for others

Honestly didn't wow me. The prose was beautiful, much like "Ariadne," but the story felt flat. Maybe it was because I've read 2 other books on the same myth previously ("A Thousand Ships" by Natalie Haynes and "Clytemnestra" by Costanza Castasi), but I didn't feel like this book brought anything new to the table. Also, I was expecting to have only Electra's POV, and I think that having the 2 other POVs was interesting but just really made me hate Elektra more. Like I really didn't like Elektra. She was so so focused on hatred for her mom over a man she basically never met. Also I just hate Agamemnon in general so her weird devotion to him just made me dislike her even more. Honestly this novel overall wasn't great after having already read 2 others on the subject, but if it hand been my first on the subject I might have enjoyed it more.

Personally I believe that what went wrong with this book is its title and the blurb . Reading the blurb I was led to believe that Elektra would sort of be the main character/savior of the book . But that was not the case in-fact Elektra was one of my least favorite characters in the book.
I absolutely adore the writing style of the book but the story in itself was not a personal fav.
I wish the ending was extended a bit more so that we could have a “happy ending” preferably something like Elektra trying to better herself and be a good mother for her daughter

If we were supposed to dislike Elektra, Saint did an amazing job. The titular character, and I absolutely could not stand her and her inability to think beyond herself until it was too late. She was selfish, bitter, and mean.

However, the rest of this book is SO GOOD. I adored Cassandra’s perspective and appreciated the look into what her life was and how she was affected by the war before
begging for an end, and an end she chose for herself.
I absolutely cried for her and Clytemnestra. The ending was almost fitting, but I do wish there was more justice for Clytemnestra after everything—though Orestes didn’t deserve to face the consequences alone and it felt as though he did. So, it’s a bit of a mixed bag.

This book is very good but sometimes it just feels very slow and I'm hoping for it to hurry up. Another thing is that I struggled to sympathise with Elektra, the literal namesake for the book. I found the other povs far more interesting
but unfortunately they both die before Elektra
. By the final ten-ish chapters, I just desperately wanted the book to finish.
