Very good just the first part didn’t seem to flow into the rest of the book in fact I think it would have been better if the author separated the books into parts part one her getting pregnant and her son as a child part two her son

getting into a relationship part three her dream job and part four where it all got out of hand

An interesting slice of life novel that gets a little rocky toward the end.  I'm not sure I enjoyed it but that is mostly because I require a plot I can follow from beginning to end.  This one had several false starts but a definitive finish.  She was definitely an inreresting character although at times she did seem a little flat.

This is a book about a woman in the depression-era South who would do anything to protect her family and their secrets. I liked most of the characters and thought Maggie’s voice was great but the second half kind of dragged for me. I was hoping for more suspense in trying to cover up the murders but aside from one fateful situation everything kind of goes without a hitch.
