SCIDs is NOT an allergy. That really bugged me. Other than that, a decent easy to read book.

Overall I thought the book as a decent read considering the 3 stars. For someone that reads pretty fast I thought this book was extremely short. Now I normally just read on the kindle app on my phone and maybe that has something to do with it, but I found that the book wasn't that intriguing. The ending was kind of like when you're in your last hour of the day english class and you're writing and essay thats due by the end of the period and you're down to the last 5 minutes so you have to cram everything into a short 2 paragraphs.

Adorable, cute, quick, easy read. Just enjoy the story before you and try not to compare to other reads.

This book was definitely a hard one to put down. Once I started reading, it was impossible to stop. I kept telling myself “One more chapter” after each chapter!

It is a story about 18 year old Maddie who has been sick her whole life, with a severe immune disorder which has restricted her life in all possible ways. Her relationship with her mom is very beautiful, and it is apparent how dearly Maddie’s mom cares for her.

Maddie’s world consisted of her mom and her nurse in a completely insulated house. But Ollie comes in and gives her a whole new world to experience. While reading the book, I felt myself rooting for Maddie and Olly from the very moment they met. Their relationship was really beautifully portrayed.

But like every great novel, there’s a twist right when you least expect it. I don’t want to divulge any secrets but it sure hit me hard!

It’s definitely a great book, I especially like Madeline’s dictionary, Spoiler Reviews, and the doodles throughout the book. It made the whole reading experience a lot more interactive and fun! I plan to watch the movie as well, and I hope it’s as good as the book.

Favorite quote: “I’ve read many more books than you. It doesn’t matter how many you’ve read. I’ve read more. Believe me.”

Such an interesting topic, but I think I would have enjoyed it more if it were not written as a young adult book. I got frustrated that the author spent so much time trying to write Maddy as a tragic but beautiful teen. Too artsy for me. I just loved the story and thought so much more could have been done with it. I hate saying "not bad for a young adult book" because I try not to read YA with a separate set of rules than I use to judge adult fiction, but that's really how I felt here. I think if it had been written as general fiction, a lot more could have been explored.

A quick, fun read. Loved the literary references, IMs, and drawings. I'm excited for the movie! Amanda Stenberg will do a great job as Madeline :)

The overall concept was unique and interesting and the story had great moments. I think though that there was a huge jump in the story line and maybe it comes from the perspective change that Maddy goes through. Overall a cute young adult book.
