I feel like this was more of an awkward novel. So much interesting stuff was set up but never really addressed properly. We had Jordan who had been abused by his mother which... was fixed after one little chat to his mate? And Aaron just seemed really dull. His only defining factor seemed to be that he had waited years for his mate and suffered. But that was all okay now!
However, what raised it for me was Jordan coming into his own power and demanding rights for the gammas. I didn't like how they were treated as "stupid" and "weak" and he really stepped up to the plate. I think this novel was the perfect time to do this instead of the first novel, where Reagan wouldn't have known pack politics. It shows a deep understanding by the author which is nice to see.

Okay so this series is apparently set in Australia

Right, not sure I'd picked that up before but this is an Australian setting apparently. Odd, as there's nothing really which has given it an Aussie flavour in the first book.

In this one there's a bit more world development, we find out a bit more about pack dynamics and gamma wolf Jordan, who ran off in book one, comes back and finally mates with Alpha Aaron.

The Rogues are still causing a threat and changes are slowly coming to the pack.
