Such an emotional, beautifully written story about multiple generations of women. The concepts of inherited trauma and epigenetics are briefly discussed without too much science (I would have loved more info but I know others might not). The characters are strong, with each generation becoming stronger until one woman takes action to break the cycle of trauma in her family. Some classify this as magical realism, which I rarely read, so to me, this was a very unique book.

This is a book about the connections that bind us across generations, including trauma. I listened to this as an audiobook, so it was even more feels through the words of the characters. I will say I wanted more of each character's story (in a good way) because there was so much there!
