Picked this series up randomly at the Kindle Owners' lending library. The first book started out with a small insignificant girl in an extremely simple world and evolves into an amazing story. I love how so much of the magic and characters follow righteous standards. There's a very heavy religious element here, and the ancient Jewish culture and beliefs being mixed in were really interesting (I saw a lot of similarities with LDS religion too). Characters were great, the last book I gave a lower ending because the plot was all super predictable and the ending was anti-climatic, but it was still excellent and kept me hooked to the very end.

I enjoyed this series. I read reviews of the second book and saw that a lot of readers were troubled by the connections to the Mormon faith. Not knowing much about the faith, the books actually inspired me to learn more about some of the guiding principles of the religion. After that, book three read very differently for me as I clearly see the connections others mentioned. It didn't bother me as I didn't fell "preached to", but it was pretty obvious. Not a bad fantasy series though and an easy read.

This book was fascinating! I loved the pacing of this part of the series and the twists and turns it took.
Love the cliffhanger ending! Too good!

A good ending to a good series. It is obviously setting up many events for a future series which I can't wait to read.

Only negative is that the ending waa a touch convoluted and could easily have been a bit simpler. It was quite difficult at times to keep up with all the twists and turns.
