My least favourite colleen book so far. I felt like the beginning and their connection were rushed, which kinda ruined the mood for the first part. Some secondary characters were vaguely introduced and I understood 100 pages in who they truly were. The themes were just not my favourite either, the way they were touched was clumsy.

However, I really appreciated the ending, and closure that the characters received. The double POVs and the pictures of Owen's art were also a nice surpise.

EMORY IS A QUEEN I LOVE HER (ngl she was my favourite character, I wish we'd seen more of her)

Since I literally just finished reading and am now trying to write this review, my emotions are still very much all over the place.
This story has its share of heavy topics and it riles you up for good.
SpoilerOne moment you're head over heals in love with Owen, and the next you want to throw up and hit Trey hard on the face with a brick.

It's a complex book in a way, because I've felt like it dealt with different kinds of love and how such love makes people act in different situations. It also shows how family relationships can change and get affected when there's life-altering moments.
SpoilerAuburn is stronger than she seems and sometimes it's easy to forget that she's only 21. I was a little bit frustrated with her at some point - but I admit my opinion might be slightly "uninformed" since I don't have children and therefore cannot say that her decisions were right or wrong since I can't put myself in her shoes (and yes, I know this is fiction but still) - but at the end she pleasantly surprised me.

The artwork is breathtaking and it adds so much to the story! Every painting kept me glued to its page for several minutes and some of the confessions were hard to read.
Again, I've surrendered to another Colleen book and it became officially impossible to resist.
