I just don't understand how they don't recognise Brett???? Also the cop sucks. Read this in a day, felt creeped out towards the end. Good book

-changed rating down BC why is Madison there and also I remembered that it took Seneca so long to figure out the balloon clue when I got it instantly

For someone being called the smartest of the crew, Seneca is bloody dumb. And I don't like the author's characterization of the killer guy being practically a genius. It was interesting when Allie was calculative, but this is just bullshit. The author is no doubt genius but there were a lot left unexplained and the villain was made tooooo much of a genius which isn't really believable or even plausible but it fails where you make the readers feel like idiots especially when we had predicted the outcome way back and it's annoying how conveniently dumb author made the other characters just so the killer could win. A-N-N-O-Y-I-N-G!! Let the good people win for once. Just because a book sells or a cliffhanger makes people go for the next book doesn't mean we do it enjoyably or that this is good. And that disappoints me because I absolutely loved all the 16 books in the pretty little liars series and even the first book in this series but this is nuts.

Coming to what I did like about the book: Aerin and Madison's character development was fantastic. Seneca downgraded from dumb to dumber if that's possible. Maybe the third book will show her as the dumbest yet. At first I compared her to Annabeth and all and found some similarities. But who are we kidding? Annabeth would never sabotage things so stupidly or make dumb blurting out and stupid decisions. Annoys me why she's labelled as the smart one.

I was excited to read the sequel to The Amateurs right when the first one ended. But, I was very disappointed in this one. They say that sequels are usually worse than the first and in this case, that saying is true. For me, I enjoyed all of the characters in the first one but for this one, Seneca annoyed me half the time. She seemed to think that she was better than the other characters in the group and the way she was written made her very unlikable. The mystery for this one was really slow moving and not gripping at all. The only reason I finished it so quickly was because I wanted to get it over with, honestly. Not saying it's the worst book ever but I was looking for a little more, especially from Sara Shepard. Another factor I wasn't a fan of is the corniness of the main villain. If you know the series, it's an ongoing mystery but I feel like this book was a waste of time up until the last couple chapters. Overall, it was alright. But I would not read again.

The entire thing was an unecessary set up and I'm angry I spent real money on it. It made me real angry, I'm not kidding.

I didn't really click with this one. I haven't read the first in the series but there is enough at the beginning that this isn't a problem. I think, for me, I mostly didn't like the characters. Some of them seemed superfluous to the story and didn't add much to it.

I struggled to get into the story and ended up skipping quite a bit. Not for me.
