I've actually been enjoying this Angel run, for the most part...and then this issue happened. I often talk about the bad art in the original Dark Horse Buffy and Angel runs (pre-seasons) but this was on a whole other level. Paired with the story? This is the worst issue of Angel I think I've ever read. I'm grateful I don't buy these in single issues. Comixology Unlimited saved me with this one!

My Thoughts On: Angel & Spike #14

1. Oh God, cue the cheesy, angsty Angel voice-over. Sometimes I like them, and sometimes I don't.

2. There is definitely a new illustrator on this issue, and it's not bad exactly, but it took me about half the issue to get used to. In some panels, I could barely recognize the characters' faces. It did get better further through.

3. I love seeing Lilith even if it's for a brief moment in a power suit, ordering the boys around.

4. "City of Los Angeles is used to blood on its streets." "So they don't bother to clean it up?" "Got bigger problems. I guess." "Yeah, don't have to tell me that. Screw this." Gunn, I'm with you on this one.

5. C'mon Angel, you don't know what cosplay is? Now all I want is for the gang to drag Angel to a comic con somewhere, and everyone compliments his costume even though he's not wearing one.

6. The brewing Kate/Angel relationship is intense and messy, and I am here for it all!

7. Poor Fred! She really doesn't want to be in charge of Wolfram & Hart and spread evil and chaos throughout the world. C'mon, Fred, fight the demon! Come back to us!

8. I love it when our team is completely mess and bad at fighting together. It makes me feel better about myself.

9. "We get attached to the things we hold dear. We'll do everything to preserve that complacency. But eventually, you'll find yourself confronted with a choice to make. Lean into your morals. Force them on others. Or change. Forgive. Move on. Realize, one hateful act begets another. But a selfless act can also be contagious." For once, a very good Angel voice-over.

10.
