I loved this fast paced, twisty, psychological thriller. It was a quick read, binge-worthy, with a pretty good twist ending that reminded me a bit of Big Little Lies (Iykyk). This was my first Lucy Clarke book, I can’t wait to read more by her. I loved the setting of Greece, the bachelorette party (hen do) as they call it in England. The short alternating chapters kept the pace of the book moving. This one kept me turning pages wondering what was going to happen at the end. All the characters had secrets which also made the plot line more interesting. This had all the elements of a good thriller: lies, secrets, and one person who will unravel it all. Definitely pick this one up if you’re looking for a quick read by the pool or the beach! Thank you Netgalley and G.P. Putnam Sons for the e-galley in exchange for an honest review!

This book is a deep dive into sisterhood and friendship.

Set against the landscape of a Greek island, this book follows a group of friends at a hen party, which first starts as a time to relax and escape but as the hen continues, secrets and tension seem to build until it all comes to an unfortunate conclusion.

The characters were easily the best part of this book. Each had something that they were hiding it feeling and for some, I couldn't guess exactly what that was until it became apparent. I did feel that some characters were written better than others, I assumed that they were all supposed to be the same level of likeable but they very much weren't. The only character I wanted to live throughout this hen sorry was Robyn, Elenor and Ana. The others I did not feel too strongly about.

I liked the way that the plot unwound itself though the little snippets between chapters did annoy me, I just felt they weren't needed. But the plot did have me guessing until the end and the reveal seemed shocking but in a way where it wasn't inconceivable which I appreciate.

Overall I did enjoy this, while I don't feel particularly strong about it, I feel as though it's a good beach read if you're into that sort of thing.

THE GUEST LIST WHO!

move over other remote location domestic thrillers, there’s a new one in town and it’s one you don’t want to miss!!

a bachelorette party ends in murder. that’s it. that’s the synopsis. LOL all six women have something to hide from someone else, even the ones that don’t even know each other, and you just know all of those secrets are going to come out eventually. because what’s a bachelorette party without drunken confessions? oops.

first of all, I lived vicariously through this book because it is my dream to visit greece. I’ve been almost everywhere else in mainland europe but not greece and it sounds so beautiful. can I be invited to the bachelorette? pls

I have to say, while I predicated the death at the end, I did NOT see half of the plot twists and secrets coming. it was a wonderful surprise to turn the page and see the newest POV ready to reveal something to the reader. which brings me to my next point -

we got a POV from every single one of the six ladies which makes me so happy!!! nothing I love more than conflicting POVs and thoughts to keep me confused!!

I definitely would recommend this thriller to anyone who loves lucy foley, megan miranda & alice feeney. I flew through this one so much, I was reading it any chance I could get!!!

thank you to netgalley and penguin house for the arc in exchange for an honest review. june ‘22 cannot come soon enough!!!!
