that althought it isn't completely explicit the representation of the agriculture district seemed like a very explicit portrayal of racism and slaverydystopianaddict's review against another edition

Rue. Clove. Foxface. Thresh. Oh my god this book!!!! I love movies a lot but books nearly always just have this little bit more, and I feel like this was the perfect example. Although I loved the movies and the cast, it was just the extra detail, and Katniss' POV that made me love it that bit more. Katniss' thoughts on Peeta, the way she was so sure he was just pretending to be nice to her was just something that I really liked. I knew everything that was going to happen and yet i still cried for Rue. That scene is so heartbreaking and so sweet at the same time it was crazy. I loved the way it went into more detail about Haymitch's Alcoholism, and how bad it really was, I love the inclusion of Madge, and the mockingjay pin (Maysilee's Mockingjay Pin 🤭🤭) I loved this book so much. The way it broke me and put me back together. The tropes. The fact that it wasn't all fix-it and the fact that it really shows that even the careers, who murdered in cold blood and joked about it, were still just kids. 5 stars.proserpinapom's review against another edition
