A beautiful generational interconnected story of three Iranian/American men and their journeys in 3 different time periods. Moud, 2019. Saeed, 1978. Bobby, 1939. Son, Father, & Grandfather.
I adored it and read almost all in one sitting. Abdi Nazemian has a way of entrancing you into each time period with authenticity and care. I love books with multiple protagonists. It helps tremendously with pacing, you never have a dull moment.
Not to say that the pacing is fast, there is a lot of beautiful lingering moments that are allowed to breathe. The book just felt like “teleport” magic, losing track of time. I got to empathize with each member. It has queer and family trauma healing. I was a hot mess with the book’s wonderful life lessons and the poetry quotes. Overall a marvelous read and I recommend to all.

Loved reading about generational experiences, a little frustrated at the way all the main characters have the same voice and dialects despite being in very different generations, but still good
