I don't think there are enough good things to say about The Bitter March. I originally picked it up because I found the following quote on Pinterest: "I can see into your mind, poor brainwashed toy soldier. Oh, to see what they did to you. It would break your captain's heart. Remember where you are from. remember whom you were trained by."

Reading this by itself is powerful but the story surrounding this quote and who says it created a pit in my stomach. The Drain is such a menacing character and his sociopathy combined with his ability makes him terrifying, and I wish I could fully describe how I hear his voice in my head because just thinking about it sends a shiver down my spine. I'm going to attempt to describe how I hear his voice in my head. When I think about the way he speaks of think of a man with a higher register who, when conversating, speaks in a sing-song; however, when he starts to use his powers to the register stays the same but the fake pity is sickly sweet and as he gets closer to his ultimate goal the persona drops and it's all intensity and focus. That sound combined with the visual of Boschi's artwork creeps me out.

Outside of this one character and the quote, the story is incredible and had me flipping pages until the end. I expected there to be more; however, it stopped. The overall plot is wrapped up, but there was so much story potential for the characters that I was left sad and disappointed there wasn't more. Ultimately, I hope they bring The Drain into the MCU because I think his abilities would be something truly terrifying to see matched against the characters we know and love.
