So adorable! One of my all time favorite movies beautifully illustrated and broken down to a wonderful children’s book.

Las ilustraciones están re hermosas. La historia es la versión simplificada de la película. Icónico ET con su disfraz de fantasma.

I loved the movie so when I saw the book, I had to read it. I'd recommend this book to kids and even adults who enjoyed the movie. It was awesome!

I recently discovered that there is a whole line of children's books based off of movies from when I was growing up. Why didn't I know this sooner!! I absolutely love this as now I can share some of my favorite childhood memories with my grandbabies ❣️

E.T. was definitely one of my favorites. I cried like a baby a few times back then, and I bet I would now too.  I remember going to McDonald's to get one of these toys in my happy meal 😂 I always wanted a movie poster but never happened to get one.

This illustrated children's book brought back all that love and then some. The illustrations are great and the book covers the most important parts of the main story. Absolutely recommend for E.T. fans of all ages.

Apaixonante e nostálgico. Não tenho muito o que dizer. Ficou resumidinho de forma bem fiel ao filme.

Don't faint.
I've never watched this.
Having read the book I get a rough gauge.
Some people hated it most people love it.
Have added it to my to watch list.

This sweet storybook accomplished something I never thought possible: it made E.T. adorably cute. I first saw the movie when I was around 7-8 years old, and while I liked it and watched our VHS tape several times during my childhood, I was always rather afraid of E.T. (though the flying bikes and final scene made the movie worth the scares). This book would have helped me a lot. Here, the illustrations are beautifully done, giving everyone huge round expressive eyes, and featuring breathtaking backgrounds. The story is streamlined to suit the shorter format: it skips the psychic connection between E.T. and Elliott, E.T.'s death/recovery, and all the family drama. The focus is on E.T. and Elliott. It makes the government officials/scientists who try to take E.T. away a little less scary (as a child, the adults in the hazmat suits keeping E.T. and Elliott apart scared me worse than the alien), but they're still the villains. This is a lovely companion book to my copy of the Home Alone storybook and I look forward to next year's release in this series, Back to the Future! Maybe Ghostbusters or Jurassic Park next, or the Princess Bride, Karate Kid, or Voyage Home?

Oh man, this made me want to watch the movie so badly! Adorable, sweet, and not at all scary as I remember the film being as a small child. I loved this even though it went totally over Berry's head. We'll have to check it out again when she's a little older.
