I love a good road-trip misadventure and this book did not disappoint. I loved watching the heroine loosen up and let go of her oppressive propriety and I loved how witty the hero was. They were an entertaining couple to read. For some reason it didn’t connect with me enough to be a five star read, but it was still delightful and enjoyable. My biggest issue with this book was all the super weird euphemisms for male genitalia and they were plentiful.

It started well but halfway through it just began going downhill. It wasn’t exactly bad, just disappointing with weak writing.

I mean, technically I finished this book, but I super skimmed through most of it. It's...very early 90s. The number of ridiculous terms for a cock, I can't even.

This book is one of the "Swanlea Spinsters" series, and an enjoyable one. Daniel is the son of the Irish highwayman "Wild" Danny Brennan, and Helena is a well-bred daughter of an Earl. It's an amusing sort of Cinderella story - with a gender reversal. The plot in this book - recovering her sister who has eloped - doesn't get in the way of the story, but supports it. Enjoyed this book!

3.5 Stars..!!

This is the first Sbrina Jeffries series. I've read a The Hellions, and The duke's men series. They are awesome..!
So, I'm a little bit surprised that this is a SJ book. You can clearly tell that these are her earlier work.
The story is what made me give 3.5 stars. The writing is not up to SJ standard. I was really disappointed.
But I did love Danny and Helena. They made me complete the book.

And my main complaint is why does she find it necessary to use such stupid synonyms for a man's cock. There I said it 'Cock'. Why does she she so many stupid other names dude..?? I mean, What's up with that..?

Other than that the story was nice and it was a pleasant read.

More like 3.5* I enjoyed this much more than the first in the series. The relationship between Daniel and Helena felt very natural and the adventure was fun. This book made me very excited to read the next onel
