I’m honestly surprised it took me this long to read. I’ve heard about this book in every class I’ve had for editing and it’s been on my bookshelf for months, but I finally read it. It’s nothing I don’t already know or have been taught. If you are just getting into editing or if you have a slight interest in learning how to edit, read this.

A really interesting book that gave me a new perspective on film! I certainly learnt a lot, even though I sometimes felt that the things described and explained were a little to advanced for me... nonetheless, an interesting and eye-opening read!

A simply fantastic expansion of a lecture Murch gave on the science and the art of film editing. Really interesting without bogging down in detail but gives you just enough of the technical details that Murch gives you a real feel for how and why a film editor works.
