As someone with queer Christian relatives and as a non binary person under 40 who happy lives in a small town in a rural area this book resonated so much with me.

This book was a great sequel to All Our Hidden Gifts. I like that they have both ended on a bittersweet ending making me wonder how the series is going to end as a whole. I feel like Maeve has had a hard time mentally throughout both these books and that has not been resolved or help in any way. If we think about it she has lost more and more of her family because they don’t trust her and most likely think that she is a murderer. I like that Roe, Lily, and Fiona are getting more of a story line and backstory but I wish that the friend group as a whole had more communication. It was such a good book and even dealing with magic it feels so real in the people they are and the setting that they are in.
