One of the rare cases of a sequel being quite a bit better than the first book. I read this entire book in a day, which I haven't done in such a long time. The interplay between Damen and Laurent and the growth of their relationship in this book is so compelling, and I am excited to see how the series concludes.

Sooooooooo... I am LOVING this series! Let me start by saying that. I don’t think I loved Book 2 as much as Captive Prince, because this one was much more about War, which isn’t my go to subject matter. I loved book 1, because it was all about life at court, plus sexy Gay Slaves... sign me up!

I will say that we get more Sexy Time in this book... by more, I mean 1 SINGULAR SCENE! But beggars can’t be choosers (but I ain’t begging!), so I’m living with it.

There is a twist, if you want to call it that, that LITERALLY BROKE ME, towards the end. I was/am/will always be crushed by it. I’m thinking about it and my heart is still hurting.... UGGHHHHHHHHHHH!

Anyway! I’ll be starting Book 3 tomorrow, so I’m crossing my fingers for a positive outcome.
