A very cute and quirky book that's great for a quick read. The art style adds to the charm and the stories are at times very dark and troubled or innocent and sweet. I found it to be relatable as we all have navigated the waters of love and found ourselves at the cusp of sexual awakening; namely the sort of excitement and thrill that brings into our lives. I found myself laughing at some of the stories of awkward first crushes and sharing in the pain of rejection by family and being forced to part with loved ones. Overall worth a flip through at the library or a cute coffee table book (although it does contain depictions of sex).

A collection of short graphic biographies about women's first lesbian experiences. With only a few pages per person, it felt a little like the stubs of stories to be elaborated on later. The art is OK.

This book, On Loving Women, is a collection of short comics staring Diane Obomsawin’s friends. This book describes how and when they discovered they were lesbians and what the experience was like for them. I am not a lesbian, but I believe everyone should have a right to be whatever they want.

This story was a bit ummm choppy? I guess I didn't realize it was different women in the beginning of the story, so I read it as one woman's experience. I learned this wasn't the case because of conflicting tales, then reread it once I realized my error. For this I take one star away, because I feel that many would make this mistake.

The biggest statement that struck me was this :"I wanted to be the centre of attention...and I wanted nobody to notice me." This was me when I was a teenager, I soon found myself understanding these women even though I have never struggled with how people view me, but I have hated myself and found myself struggling with my identity.

Another thing that I didn't understand was the use of animal heads on these girls? I didn't get that part, aside from the first story. Over all it was a powerful comic, confronting a current issue.

Sweet short coming out stories of lesbians drawn as bipedal farm animals. Quick read, lots to look at, worth every minute.

Some stories were cute and quirky. Some featured underaged relations that didn’t jive with me.

Obomsawin's vignettes on first relationships are told sweetly and poignantly. A quick read, with lovely and thoughtful illustrations.

A lovely little collection of women sharing their stories of loving women.

The art style is very unique, and I think the simplistic, anthropomorphic designs work well for the stories being told. The stories are not ground breaking or world shaking, and the style matches that tone well.

Despite them being simple, there was a revelation in each of the women's stories, and there was joy, too. I only wish the stories lasted just a bit longer.

A lovely collection, and I hope to find more like it.
